Greek-style meatballs

    16 min

This meatball recipe is similar to a familiar way of making meatballs, however, Mediterranean cuisine is known for its abundance of spices, and the flavour changes depending on what you use. For example, cinnamon is very common in Greek or Moroccan cuisine.

    1. Soak the slice of bread in a little water then mash with the hands until creamy. Place into a mixing bowl, then add the veal, seasoning, garlic, onion, cinnamon and mint and mix thoroughly. If the mixture is too stiff, you can add a couple spoonfuls of milk to loosen. Form the mixture into small meatballs then coat with flour.
    2. Warm the oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat then add the meatballs and fry on all sides for 5 to 6 minutes turning frequently to allow them to cook through. Cook until the meatballs are no longer pink in the centre. Remove from the pan and serve hot or cold.
