Millet porridge

    This creamy porridge made with millet flakes and milk makes a great gluten free breakfast choice during the colder months. You can serve it with chopped prunes or raisins.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 200g millet flakes
    • 500ml water
    • 1 or 2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 500ml milk
    • 2 tablespoons butter

    Method

    1. Place millet flakes in a pot; add water, sugar and salt; cook and stir over medium heat.
    2. Once all the water has evaporated; add milk and heat without stirring, covered with a lid.
    3. Turn off the heat and let stand a few minutes. Add butter.
