Easy peasy strawberry jam

    Nothing compares to homemade! This simple strawberry jam consists of just three ingredients and couldn't be simpler to make.

    Makes: 4 or 5 jars

    • 1kg strawberries - washed, hulled and quartered
    • 800g granulated sugar
    • juice of 1 lemon

    1. In a large bowl mash strawberries coarsely with a potato masher and place in a large casserole dish. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, then add sugar and lemon juice.
    2. Simmer, stirring frequently, for 10 to 15 minutes. Skim off any foam and keep stirring for 5 minutes.
    3. Spoon the jam into hot sterilised jars and seal. Store unopened jars in a cool, dark place.
