4 eggs
220g plain flour
220g caster sugar
220g butter, melted
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
Method Prep:15min › Cook:45min › Ready in:1hr
Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6 and butter a 23cm round cake tin.
Combine all ingredients in a mixer and mix thoroughly (or manually with a spoon if you prefer).
Pour into prepared tin and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes; reduce temperature to 150 C / Gas 2 and bake for another 15 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
