1 (1.5kg) rack côte de boeuf (bone-in rib-eye steaks), with 2 to 3 bones
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 large pinch chilli powder
1 teaspoon herbes de Provence
1 lime, squeezed

Heat barbecue to high heat.
In a small bowl combine the garlic, salt and pepper, oil, chilli powder, herbs and lemon. Mix well and brush onto beef on all sides.
Cook on barbecue for 10 to 15 minutes, till well seared on all sides. Move away from direct heat and cook at a lower temperature for 12 to 15 minutes per 500g for rare, 15 to 18 minutes per 500g for medium and 20 minutes per 500g for well done.
Remove from BBQ and tent with a piece of foil. Let rest 10 to 15 minutes off the heat before serving.
