Indi's Butter Cream Icing

    An easy butter cream icing that tastes amazing!

    Serves: 1 

    • 180g softened butter
    • 2 1/2 icing sugar
    • 1 tablespoon milk

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:30min chilling  ›  Ready in:50min 

    1. Beat the butter in a small bowl with an electric mixer until as white as possible.
    2. Beat in 1/2 of sifted icing sugar and 1/2 of the milk until fluffy then add the remaining milk and icing sugar until light and smooth.
    3. Add food colouring (optional) and continue to beat until colour is evenly mixed.


    Add food colouring to add a different colour or just leave it yellow.


    Dont be too worried in Step 1 if it doesn't go white, its just as good yellow.


    When softening hard butter dont let it melt to the point were it's liquid. It ruins the whole icing.


    Add a teaspoon of cocoa powder for a chocolate tasting icing.
