Add food colouring to add a different colour or just leave it yellow.
Dont be too worried in Step 1 if it doesn't go white, its just as good yellow.
When softening hard butter dont let it melt to the point were it's liquid. It ruins the whole icing.
Add a teaspoon of cocoa powder for a chocolate tasting icing.
