Trifle for children

    When I make trifle, I always make a small trifle on the side without alcohol. Homemade pastry cream is best but if you are short on time you can also use ready made custard.

    Serves: 4 

    • 6 sponge fingers
    • 500ml homemade pastry cream or ready made custard
    • 50g blueberries
    • 250ml whipping cream
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    1. Divide the sponge fingers into the bottom of 4 clear glasses.
    2. Cover with the pastry cream, then add a layer of blueberries.
    3. Beat the whipping cream until stiff. Fold in the vanilla extract and spread over the blueberries. Decorate with sugar sprinkles.
