Cheese flan

    A delicious salty flan with eggs, ham and cheese. Serve for brunch or as a light lunch with a green salad or sliced tomatoes.

    Serves: 4 

    • 500ml milk
    • 4 eggs
    • 80g ham, chopped
    • 60g Gruyère cheese, grated
    • 30g butter
    • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
    • salt and ground black pepper

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Butter 4 ramekins.
    2. Warm the milk in a saucepan. Beat the eggs lightly, then add the ham. Pour the warm milk into the eggs, little by little, whisking constantly. Stir in the nutmeg, salt and pepper.
    3. Pour the mixture into the 4 ramekins and sprinkle with the Gruyère cheese.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted near the centre comes out clean, about 20 minutes. Serve hot.
