Grilled goat's cheese croutes

    These moreish cheesy toasts are a glamorous version of the cheese and pickle sandwich perfect for serving at parties.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 12 canapes

    • 1 French stick
    • olive oil to drizzle
    • 1 truckle fresh goat's cheese or Camembert
    • 1 (300g) jar Garner’s Pickled Shallots, drained
    • 1 jar pesto

    Method
    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Pre-heat oven 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Slice bread to create diagonal pieces.
    3. Line a metal tray with baking parchment and fill tray with slices of bread then drizzle lightly with oil.
    4. Place a thin wedge of cheese on each slice and press in two Garner’s Pickled Shallots – you can slice them if you prefer.
    5. Add a dot of pesto and bake in oven for approximately 5 minutes until the cheese is just melting around the onions.
    6. Serve immediately.

    Tip

    Nut free pesto is now available for those with allergies.
