Hot steak mince chilli

    This spicy chilli is only for people who like really hot food. Serve this chilli over pasta or rice.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 peppers, chopped
    • 10 to 15 mushrooms, chopped
    • 2 onions, chopped
    • 500g premium lean steak mince
    • 2 beef stock cubes
    • 600ml (1 pt) hot water
    • 2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala (mild)
    • 3 tablespoons chilli powder (hot)
    • 2 teaspoons cornflour
    • 3 tablespoons honey

    1. Slice the peppers, mushrooms and onions to around the same size. Add to large stewing pan.
    2. Add the steak mince to a frying pan. Leave the meat in the pan until brown and add to stewing pan with the veg.
    3. Add the stock cubes to water mix until all dissolved. Also add the spices - the black pepper, garam masala and chilli powder.
    4. At this point you are ready to turn the heat on. Put the pan on a medium ring with heat / flame on maximum.
    5. Once it starts to boil turn the heat down to the minimum and leave lid on to cook for 2 hours.
    6. After 1 hour add the cornflour to thicken the sauce. Then after the 2 hours before serving add the honey to take the bitterness out of the dish then serve immediately with a side of rice and/or pasta. Also don't forget that drink of water. :)


    When handling chilli avoid contact with any sensitive areas. Wash hands straight away after use.
