Hot steak mince chilli

    This spicy chilli is only for people who like really hot food. Serve this chilli over pasta or rice.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 peppers, chopped
    • 10 to 15 mushrooms, chopped
    • 2 onions, chopped
    • 500g lean beef mince
    • 2 beef stock cubes
    • 600ml (1 pt) hot water
    • 2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons mild garam masala
    • 3 tablespoons hot chilli powder
    • 2 teaspoons cornflour
    • 3 tablespoons honey

    1. Slice the peppers, mushrooms and onions to around the same size. Add to a large stewing pan.
    2. Add the mince to a frying pan. Fry until brown and add to stewing pan with the veg.
    3. Add the stock cubes and water and mix until dissolved. Also add the spices.
    4. Put the pan on the hob and turn the heat to the maximum. Once it starts to boil turn the heat down to the minimum. Leave lid on and simmer for 1 hour.
    5. After 1 hour add the cornflour to thicken the sauce, and continue to simmer for 1 more hour. Before serving add the honey and serve immediately with a side of rice and/or pasta.


    When handling chilli avoid contact with any sensitive areas. Wash hands straight away after use.
