About this recipe: This lemonade will take you right back to those hot childhood summer days. My Mam would make this for me when I was a child and it always hit the spot. It is a refreshing tasty drink that is so simple to make, also children will love getting involved too. Give it a try, you will love it!

I just made this for the first time today because it's been so hot and I must say it's the BEST lemonade I've ever had! I had 4 medium sized lemons that needed using up so I threw them into the 3 pints of water and added about 200g of sugar at the end. The result was very strong but after adding a little bit of water and some ice, this lemonade is perfect! It's much better to cook the lemons than just mixing everything with cold water. The result is a lot smoother, and refreshing taste. - 01 Jul 2015

I've just made this. Couldn't be easier. I used already boiling water and put it into a large pan with the lemon juice and sugar (not peel as they were waxed lemons). I only let it boil for 5 minutes and the whole house smelled so yummy I couldn't wait to try it. We didn't even let it cool. It was so yummy and warming after being outside in the cold. I'm making this again for sure. - 10 Jan 2014
