About this recipe:
This homemade crab dip is a warm tasty dish. It gets a little kick from mustard and cayenne. Serve warm with a French stick.
3 shallots, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
150g cream cheese
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
2 teaspoons chopped fresh tarragon
70g grated Cheddar cheese
60g dried white breadcrumbs
- In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add garlic and shallots and cook till soft.
- Add cream, cream cheese, mustard, cayenne, lemon juice, Worcester sauce, tarragon, salt and pepper. Once creamy, stir in the grated Cheddar. Once melted, stir in the crabmeat.
- Tip mixture into an ovenproof dish and cover with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in a preheated 180 C / Gas 4 oven till golden and bubbly.
