About this recipe: These puff pastry pinwheels make very delicious finger food for a party. Prepared in just 30 minutes, and economical, too. It never takes long for them to disappear!

  • 1 sheet shop-bought puff pastry
  • 200g mild cheese, sliced
  • 200g sliced deli ham

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min

  1. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5 and line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cover with cheese slices. Place ham slices on top and roll up into a log, as you would a swiss roll.
  3. Slice into about 1cm thick slices and place slices onto the prepared baking tray. Leave some space between the slices.
  4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes on the oven rack in the middle until golden brown.

I make this great recipe spreading tomato purée on the pastry then sprinkling chopped cooked thin ham, then grated cheese over it comes out great tasting a bit pizza ish, brushing the pinwheels with a little Beaton egg gives them a lovely golden colour too! - 11 Mar 2015

I made these as my children have them at school & love them. Very quick & easy to make, I used less cheese & ham than the recipe stated & still delicious. My kids had them with veg for dinner & it went down very well. - 08 Feb 2014

Simple yet tasty. I followed Angiemanby's tip using tomato puree on the pastry which made the wheels look more appetising as well as extra tasty. I used sliced cheese. Next time I might wrap in cling film and chill for a bit, so that it doesn't break up while being cut. - 25 Jun 2015
