Savoury spring onion and cream scones

    These savoury spring onion and cream scones are a favourite in our household. I like to enjoy these scones with some smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers on top.

    Serves: 10 

    • 250g plain flour
    • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 350ml single cream
    • 2 spring onions, finely sliced

    1. Preheat oven to 230 C / Gas 8.
    2. In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Pour in cream and add spring onions. Quickly combine and stir, but do not over mix.
    3. Place dough onto a lightly floured surface and press down to a thickness of 2cm. Cut into triangles or circles and place onto an ungreased baking tin.
    4. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm, or allow to cool on a rack to enjoy cold.
