About this recipe: This recipe is special because I do it my own way. A simple sponge cake with four storecupboard ingredients.

Makes: 1 cake

  • 120g self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of milk

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. First preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. Get a bowl and put 120g of self raising flour in the bowl then add 2 eggs. Mix till smooth. Then add 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well. Tip the mixture into a small greased and floured cake tin.
  3. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing or icing.
