Chive and prawn tagliatelle

    Chives and prawns make such a great combination in this dish - why not keep a pot of living herbs in your kitchen to liven up any meal?

    Serves: 4 

    • 300g tagliatelle pasta
    • 50g butter
    • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
    • chopped garlic, to taste
    • 200g cooked, peeled tiger prawns
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives, from a living pot of chives
    • Juice of 1/2 lemon
    • salt and black pepper to taste

    1. Cook the tagliatelle in salted boiling water for 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and return to the pan.
    2. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a frying pan and add the chilli, garlic and prawns and cook for 1-2 minutes.
    3. Toss into the tagliatelle and stir in the fresh chives and lemon juice. Season to taste.
