Gooey corn flake cakes

About this recipe: This is a great recipe to do with the kids as it's easy to do and involves almost no cooking time. Makes a lot of mess but is definitely worth it in the end - no good for diets though! Hope you enjoy! Let the kids lick the spoons and bowls and join in if you can!!

Makes: 5 to 10 cakes

  • 2 bars of milk chocolate (about 240g)
  • 50g marshmallows
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • Corn flakes as needed

Prep:2min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Extra time:30min cooling  ›  Ready in:37min

  1. In a heat-proof bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt the chocolate, marshmallows and golden syrup together. Obviously keep children away from hot water.
  2. Take the liquid mixture off the heat and add corn flakes to taste. We like them really chocolaty and gooey so add hardly any corn flakes, but it really is up to you. This is the bit my kids love the best as they can get really messy.
  3. Spoon mixture into cake cases and put in the fridge to cool till set (you can decorate at this point if you wish).
