Bran fruit loaf

    This is my recipe for a classic bran fruit bread. The cake is egg-free and not too sweet. Enjoy with some butter and a cup of tea.

    Makes: 1 loaf

    • 110g (4 oz) Kellogg’s All Bran®
    • 140g (5 oz) caster sugar
    • 280g (10 oz) mixed dried fruit
    • 150ml (1/4 pt) milk
    • 110g (4 oz) self raising flour

    1. Combine bran cereal, sugar and dried fruit in a bowl and mix well. Stir in milk and leave to soak for 30 minutes.
    2. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    3. Sieve flour over the mixture, mix well and pour mixture into well-greased 900g (2 lb) loaf tin.
    4. Bake for about 1 hour in the preheated oven.
    5. Cut into slices and spread with butter to serve.
