Sausage and taleggio cheese crostini

    A posh toasted open sandwich made with sausage, creamy taleggio cheese and fennel seeds! A family favourite of mine.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 225g cooked sausage, skin removed and sliced
    • 75g taleggio cheese, sliced
    • 4 slices ciabatta or crusty bread
    • 1/2 tablespoon fennel seeds
    • Salt to taste

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / gas 4.
    2. Mix the sausage, cheese and fennel seeds in a bowl; season with salt. Spoon the mixture on top of the bread; arrange on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes until cheese has melted and sausage has warmed through. Serve warm.
