Healthy filling apple crumble

    A rustic apple crumble, ideal for diabetics, vegans or health conscious people but with great taste!

    Serves: 2 

    • 2 to 3 cooking apples - peeled, cored and cut into cubes
    • 50g soya margarine
    • 125g plain flour
    • 50g brown sugar (add more to taste)
    • 85g rolled oats

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Place the apples into a tart tin.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, rub the margarine into the plain flour until it resembles fine crumbs.
    3. Next stir in the brown sugar, then the oats. Spread mixture over apples.
    4. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200 C / 180 C Fan / Gas 6 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    5. Then serve with ice cream or cream (best warm!).


    Any sort of margarine or butter will work in this recipe.

    Really tasty crumble. Made these two mini portions from half the quantities of ingredients, served with creme fraiche. It will be even better with custard  -  26 Sep 2012
