Orange ginger pork chops

    Pork chops are cooked in an orange, ginger and Chinese five spice sauce until tender. You could cook gammon steaks in the same way. Serve with mash and green veggies.

    Serves: 6 

    • 6 thick pork chops
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 175ml fresh orange juice
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1┬Ż teaspoons ground ginger
    • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice
    • 1 teaspoon Tabasco┬« sauce
    • 1 large orange, sliced

    1. Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat; add chops and brown on both sides.
    2. Mix orange juice, brown sugar, ginger, Chinese five spice and Tabasco together; pour over chops.
    3. Cover pan and simmer gently for 45 minutes, or until chops are tender; add orange slices to the pan for last 5 minutes cooking time.
