Put the pumpkin in a bowl, add sugar and seasonings and mix well. Add lightly beaten eggs and milk. Stir in melted butter. Pour into the pastry case.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Lower heat to 180 C / Gas 4 and bake for about 45 minutes until filling is set. (A knife inserted in centre will come out clean when the middle is done.) Serve thoroughly cold.
