240g spelt flour
1 tablespoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
In a large bowl, mix spelt flour, baking powder and salt. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Gradually stir in milk until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. You may need to adjust the amount of milk. Place on a lightly floured surface; pat down and shape in to a round about 2cm thick. Use a cutter or top of a glass to stamp out 6 scones. Arrange on a baking tray.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the bottoms are golden brown.
Really pleased! A few friends have tried spelt scones and they've been disastrous but these turned out really well. I only used half the salt and they were still a bit salty to me, but they were light and rose well - 20 Jan 2013
