Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 20cm (8 in) cake tin and line with greased parchment.
Mix flour, salt and mixed spice together. In a separate bowl cream the margarine, sugar and syrup till soft, gradually beat in the eggs. Fold in the flour mixture, add the fruit and mix and then gradually mix in the pumpkin to a soft cake consistency.
Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin bake for 1 hour until a skewer inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.
