About this recipe: Sounds as delicious as they are. Enjoy for teatime, when the scones are still a little warm from the oven.

Makes: 12 -15 scones

  • 200g cooked, mashed pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 handful currants or sultanas
  • 250g wholemeal self-raising flour
  • a little milk to mix

  1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Grease a baking tray.
  2. Mix pumpkin, butter, honey, cinnamon and currants (or sultanas). Work in flour and add enough milk to bring to a soft dough consistency. Knead lightly and roll out; then cut into 12-15 pieces.
  3. Bake on the greased tray in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
