Super chocolaty muffins

    40 min

I was looking for a good recipe online, and nothing seemed to fit what I wanted. I decided to make my own recipe. They're very chocolaty so one is enough!

    1 person made this

    Serves: 8

    • 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
    • 150g of self-raising flour
    • 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder
    • 7 heaped tablespoons of sugar
    • 175g of butter or margarine
    • 1 egg
    • vanilla extract (optional)
    • 80g milk chocolate

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Extra time:5min cooling  ›  Ready in:40min

    1. Preheat the oven at 180°C
    2. Cream the butter and sugar together with a whisk or electric mixer in a bowl.
    3. Sieve the flour and cocoa powder into the same bowl as the butter and sugar.
    4. Add the egg in and mix with a whisk or electric mixer.
    5. Melt the milk chocolate and add it in to the bowl and mix again.
    6. Spoon the mixture into the cases.
    7. Put the paper cases on to a tray and pop them in the oven for 25 minute or so, when they're ready they should be quite crispy.
    8. Leave them to cool down for about 5 minutes because at first they're very very hot.

I like to serve these with cream and/or nuts, but you could try M&M's or any other sweets.
