    About this recipe: These are dainty little biscuits rolled in crushed cornflakes and topped with a bright-red glace cherry.

    Makes: 1 dozen biscuits

    • 200g butter
    • 85g icing sugar
    • 170g flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • Pinch of salt
    • Drop of vanilla essence
    • 85g cornflakes, lightly crushed
    • 12 glace cherries

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Lightly grease a baking tray.
    2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla essence. Divide the dough into 12 balls and roll in crushed cornflakes; put on prepared tray and place a glace cherry in the middle of each.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 12 to 15 minutes.
