Easy chocolate fudge icing

    A simple and easy to follow recipe for a smooth chocolate fudge icing using cocoa powder. Perfect for icing brownies, cupcakes or a decadent chocolate cake.

    Serves: 12 

    • 55g (2 oz) butter
    • 55g (2 oz) cocoa powder
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 110g (4 oz) icing sugar

    Prep:3min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Ready in:6min 

    1. In a saucepan, melt the butter then add the cocoa and cook over a low heat for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and stir in the milk and icing sugar. Mix until smooth.
    2. Chill in the fridge till set, then beat well and use immediately.

    First time I made any sort of frosting from scratch without buying tubs from supermarket. Was absolutely gorgeous and very easy to make.  -  20 Apr 2015


    Best icing ever! Tastes exactly like the chocolate fudge icing my granny used to make. Be sure to cook the cocoa with the butter. Next time, I might make it with espresso rather than milk.  -  23 May 2016
