About this recipe: We have been using this recipe to make shortbread for Christmas every year. Cut into shapes and decorate however you wish!

Serves: 20 

  • 150g (5 oz) plain flour
  • 25g (1 oz) cornflour
  • 50g (2 oz) caster sugar
  • 150g (5 oz) butter

Prep:30min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. Put flour, cornflour and sugar into a bowl. Cut butter into pieces and rub into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs. Mould to a dough with your hands. Roll out, cut into shapes and place on a baking tray.
  3. Place in the oven. These should cook in about 10 to 12 minutes, until a pale golden colour.
