Sausage fusilli mash-up

    25 min

This blend of sausage and fusilli really hits the spot when you've got guests round. I've cooked this meal for celebrities and they've enjoyed this meal so much they said they wanted to steal my recipe. This recipe serves 3 to 4 people.

    Serves: 4

    • 1 splash of olive oil
    • 6 sausages
    • 1/2 glass white wine (or red if you prefere it a bit sweeter)
    • 1 pinch dried basil
    • 1 pinch dried oregano
    • lemon juice to taste
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • fusilli pasta

    1. First, place a large sauce pan on the stove and splash some olive oil on top and let it heat slowly. While this happens, squeeze all the sausage meat out onto a plate.
    2. When the olive oil starts to simmer, chuck in the sausage meat and with a wooden spoon, crush the meat with the edge until you get a mince and keep the mince stirring. At this point it may be a good idea to start boiling some water.
    3. Once the meat has browned evenly, pour the half-glass of wine into the mix. Add the basil and oregano in and splash some lemon juice as well. Turn down the heat and wait for the water to boil.
    4. When the water has boiled, put as much pasta in as you want into the pot. This shouldn't take too long (4-6 minutes) but make sure you keep it stirring. Once the pasta is nice and soft. Drain the water and add the pasta to the sausage meat.
    5. Give the pasta and the sausage meat a really good stir and mix in all the flavours. When that's done, serve up the pasta and enjoy. Add salt and pepper when needed.
