Heat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a baking tray or line with baking parchment.
Cream the butter with the sugars. Add the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla and mix until smooth
Mix the flour, hot chocolate mix and baking powder together. Gently beat this into the creamed mixture, until it forms a dough.
Roll a tablespoon-sized portion into a ball, and place on greased baking tray (I always line with baking parchment to avoid sticking). Note these will spread, so leave at least an inch in all directions between biscuit balls. Do not flatten the balls.
Bake 15 minutes until the biscuits are set around the edges but still soft in the centre. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
I used cocoa, and must say the dough was delicious, a bit like Nutella, very chocolatey. I formed balls of dough, but mine didn't really spread out, they were more like a dome-shaped cake/biscuit, so would flatten mine slightly next time. My boys (6 and 4) devoured them (I got 18 out of the recipe), so they must have been good. - 06 Apr 2014
