Classic shortbread but with caramel sauce added. Was looking in my cupboard and found I needed to use the sauce and decided to try it. They have gone down a treat with both my hubby and my kids. Makes 8-12 depending on size.
Sift flour and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Rub in butter until it looks like fresh breadcrumbs. Add the caramel sauce and rub in (this bit can get messy).
Roll into balls and flatten on a lined and greased tray.
Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
