Strong local cheese on toast

    Find a good strong local cheese to you and make the most of it. I used some Roasted Onion Loaf from Artisan Breads (bought at Setley Ridge Farm Shop) and Winchester Mature (Cheddar style) from Lyburn Cheesemakers.

    Serves: 1 

    • 1 thick slice fresh bread
    • butter to spread
    • a few slices of strong local cheese
    • 1 dollop of chutney, or to taste

    Prep:2min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Ready in:5min 

    1. Slice a lovely door stop size loaf of fresh bread. Spread with some butter. Pile on some slices of local cheese.
    2. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes, till golden and bubbly.
    3. Serve with homemade or locally produced chutney to taste.
