About this recipe: The enjoyment of chocolate does not get any better than this. This chocolate tiffin builds upon a traditional idea of adding digestives and goes a step further to include Maltesers® and Mars® bars.

Serves: 8 

  • 110g butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 225g digestive biscuits, coarsely crushed
  • 120g Maltesers®, coarsely crushed
  • 4 Mars® bars, melted
  • 110g raisins
  • 450g plain chocolate, melted

Prep:20min  ›  Extra time:3hr chilling  ›  Ready in:3hr20min 

  1. Line a square baking tin with baking parchment.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, golden syrup, digestives, Maltesers®, Mars® bars and raisins. Stir well to ensure that all the ingredients are well mixed together.
  3. Spoon the tiffin mixture into the prepared tin and press down with the back of a spoon to compress. Pour the plain melted chocolate evenly over the top.
  4. Chill in the fridge for at least three hours, before turning out, slicing and serving.

Firm family favourite.... and requested frequently by friends! I keep the basics of Mars Bars, butter and golden syrup....then add any biscuits and dried fruit (apricots are delicious ) I have available. Always a winner! - 21 Jun 2015
