Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7 and grease a baking tray.
Sieve flour into a bowl and rub in the butter with your fingertips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Mix in the cherries, coconut and sugar. Pour the milk in gradually until the mixture becomes soft and sticky.
Knead the mixture lightly on a floured surface, then roll out so that the dough is around 1 to 2 cm thick. Cut into shapes and place on the baking tray. Brush some milk on top of the scones.
Bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Leave to cool before you enjoy your cherry and coconut treat.
