This recipe was given to me by my boss who is Asian. It has been passed through generations of her family so as you can imagine it is the real deal. Very healthy and super tasty. You can serve it as a side or main . I love it with Kobaz bread and a samosa.

I really like the simplicity of this recipe and appreciate that it makes use of stuff that I always have in the cupboard - apart from the two tins of chickpeas...I only had one so had to substitute in a tin of well-rinsed baked beans. found this a bit bland.but i couldnt get ginger paste so used powder.I used tin chickpeas,and followed recipe.The chilli gave it a kick,i added more ginger,garam, and coriander powder.overall good recipe,very easy. - 02 Mar 2014
