About this recipe: These simple chocolate brownies are so simple and easy to make, everyone will love them. Add some pecans or chocolate chips, your choice.

Ingredients
Serves: 8 

  • 2 eggs
  • 225g (8 oz) caster sugar
  • 110g (4 oz) butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 110g (4 oz) self-raising flour
  • 55g (2 oz) chopped pecans or chocolate chips

Method
Prep:10min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:55min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 20cm (8 in) square cake tin then line it with baking parchment.
  2. Beat the eggs and the sugar in a bowl, until light and fluffy.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan at a low heat or in the microwave and pour into the egg mixture when melted. Add the cocoa powder and mix. Sift the flour and fold into the mixture along with the pecans or chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.
  4. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Easy recipe to make. I added a box of maltesers to make it extra special for a chocoholic!!! Just cooked for 5 minutes less than stated to ensure a gooey centre. - 03 Apr 2015
