Better for you brownies

    Traditional brownies are far from a good food choice if your looking after your weight. These brownies include natural non processed ingredients to make them as healthy as possible. The cocoa powder in these brownies gives you a real chocolate fix and are a nice guilt free treat. Paleo diet friendly and wheat free.

    Serves: 8 

    • 125ml coconut oil
    • 75g organic cocoa powder
    • 1 free range egg
    • 125ml organic coconut milk
    • 100g ground almonds
    • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons almond butter

    1. Preheat the oven to 220 C / Gas 7. Grease a baking tin with a little coconut oil.
    2. Mix the coconut oil, cocoa powder and egg in a mixing bowl. Then add the rest of the ingredients to the mixing bowl. Mix well and pour into the prepared baking tin.
    3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Slice and serve.


    To ensure that these brownies are dairy free and gluten free, please double check all ingredients used. Honey may not be included in your paleo diet, so omit if necessary.
