- Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add the pasta and cook stir occasionally with a fork or spoon until firm to the bite.
- Heat a little oil in a large saucepan and when it begins to sizzle, add the bacon. Wait until bacon is pink then add the garlic. Once the bacon is well done add the mushrooms and onion and cook until tender. Reduce the heat and add the splash of milk and half a tub of cream cheese, stir until the cheese becomes a soft sauce.
- Once the pasta is ready, drain and add to the large saucepan and mix well. Or if you prefer you can plate it up and add the sauce to the top. Give the whole pot a good stir, turn off the heat and serve.
If your sauce is too thick, add a little more milk. If it is too runny, add some more cream cheese and cook for a little longer. You can use smoked or unsmoked bacon depending on taste.
The two portions of pasta are a loose measure. (Apologies, I've always measured by eye, if you are unsure please search portion sizes for the pasta you have, all pasta is different).
