Deep fried mozzarella balls

    Serves: 2 

    • 1 pack fresh mozzarella cheese
    • 1 egg
    • 4 to 6 tablespoons breadcrumbs
    • oil, for deep frying
    • chopped fresh parsley, to taste
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • dried chilli flakes (optional)

    1. Preheat the oil for deep frying.
    2. Cut the mozzarella cheese into bite-sized pieces.
    3. In a bowl, beat the egg and add the salt, pepper and chilli flakes (if using).
    4. On a plate, combine the breadcrumbs and parsley.
    5. One at a time, dip the mozzarella cheese in the egg and then roll in the breadcrumbs. Carefully add to the oil and deep fry for around 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oil and place on kitchen paper to drain. Serve.
