my version of pasta and mince

    pasta and mince with mushrooms & gravy, a tasty cheap meal!

    • 500g turky, lamb, pork or beef mince (lean is best)
    • pasta (100g per person)
    • a punnet of button mushroons
    • gravy granuels
    • boiling water for pasta and gravy
    • 2 beef oxo cubes
    • 1 tablespoon lea and perins
    • 1 chopped onion optional


    1. put water in a large pan to boil for pasta
    2. place mince (and chopped onion if using) in a large frying pan on a low to moderate temperature
    3. when water boils rapidly place pasta in the boiling water, leave to simmer for approx. 11 mins stirring occasionally
    4. stir mince until separated and nearly cooked, add chopped mushrooms
    5. crumble oxo cubes into mince and stir
    6. sprinkle gravy granuels into mince add more if you like thick gravy
    7. pour in boiling water and stir until all the gravy has been dissolved and the gravy is to your liking
    8. add lea and perins to the mixture and stir
    9. leave to simmer gently while draining the pasta
    10. add pasta to mince and combine
    11. dish out and enjoy!!
