About this recipe:My family loves hob nob biscuits and the variants I make. The recipe is very easy to follow and I often jazz it up by adding raisins or chopped mixed nuts or mixed peel or chocolate chips at the mixing stage of the recipe. The family's favourite hob nob variant is raisin and chopped mixed nuts.

Pre-heat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
Put into a mixing bowl the flour, sugar, oats and bicarb and mix together.
In a small saucepan melt the butter on a low heat and add the golden syrup and mix. Pour into the dry mixture and mix well. (I use the K beater to do this task.) Divide the mix into 25 to 30 balls and place on a baking tray.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. I always check the biscuits at the 10 minute point. The biscuits are cooked when they have turned golden brown.
Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Make a cup of tea and enjoy it with a freshly baked hob nob biscuit.
If you have a less of a sweet tooth then me, reduce the amount of sugar and leave the golden syrup content as per the recipe. I have lowered the amount of sugar to 100g and the biscuit is still delicious and moreish.
