Really easy to make traybake, that is lovely and chewy with a delicious chocolate layer and perfect with a cup of tea!

    Serves: 8

    • 80g butter
    • 3 Mars® bars, chopped
    • 200g Rice Krispies®
    • 250g chocolate

    Prep:15min  ›  Extra time:2hr setting  ›  Ready in:2hr15min

    1. Melt butter over a medium heat in a pan. Mix in the Mars® bar pieces. Turn heat down and stir gently, until all the Mars® bar pieces have dissolved (be patient and don't turn the heat up to make it go quicker, it will burn!).
    2. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies® well until they are all coated in the gooey mixture.
    3. Press down into a medium sized tin with either greaseproof paper or tin foil and pop into fridge.
    4. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or double boiler. Again be patient, you don't want it to burn!
    5. Smooth the melted chocolate over the top and place into fridge for 1 to 2 hours to set, then enjoy!

Use dark chocolate for a less sweet finish, also, placing small dots of melted white chocolate on top of melted milk chocolate and swirling them together creates a beautiful marbled effect for a more fancy looking traybake!

Absolutely delicious, thank you for sharing this recipe !! I did the marble effect with the white chocolate and worked a treat !!! Thanks again.  -  10 Aug 2014

This recipe does not work - the quantities are all wrong. There is not enough of the melted goey mixture to cover the Rice Krispies so it is left dry and won't press into the tin like it should (and no, my tin was not too big). There is not enough chocolate to cover the top either. There was no way it would cut into any sort of slices. My family ate the crumbled up mess which tasted nice but as I said above the quantities given are completely incorrect so slices can not be created. Very disappointing.  -  15 May 2017
