Melt butter over a medium heat in a pan. Mix in the Mars® bar pieces. Turn heat down and stir gently, until all the Mars® bar pieces have dissolved (be patient and don't turn the heat up to make it go quicker, it will burn!).
Take the pan off the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies® well until they are all coated in the gooey mixture.
Press down into a medium sized tin with either greaseproof paper or tin foil and pop into fridge.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or double boiler. Again be patient, you don't want it to burn!
Smooth the melted chocolate over the top and place into fridge for 1 to 2 hours to set, then enjoy!
Use dark chocolate for a less sweet finish, also, placing small dots of melted white chocolate on top of melted milk chocolate and swirling them together creates a beautiful marbled effect for a more fancy looking traybake!
Faffy and a wee bit expensive to make - took ages for the mars bars to melt and the rice krispies like to fly everywhere (a bigger bowl needed I think!). Gone down a storm at work today. Very tasty. - 05 May 2016
