Oreo® cupcakes with Oreo® frosting

    Chocolate cupcakes get the Oreo® treatment, and if that's not enough - so does the frosting! A must try for any Oreo® lover.

    Makes: 12 cupcakes

    • Oreo® cupcakes
    • 12 Oreo® biscuits
    • 70g unsalted butter
    • 250g caster sugar
    • 175g plain flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 55g cocoa powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 200ml milk
    • Oreo® icing
    • 230g butter
    • 440g icing sugar
    • 4 Oreo® biscuits
    • 1 tablespoon milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Make sure your eggs and butter are at room temperature.
    2. Place 12 cupcake cases in a tin and place one Oreo® in each case at the bottom.
    3. Cream together your butter and sugar until smooth.
    4. Sift together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Add to butter mixture alternately with beaten eggs and milk.
    5. Fill your cases 3/4 full with the batter, then tap the tray on the counter, so that the mixture touches the bottom and covers the Oreo®.
    6. Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until risen and cooked through. Leave to cool, move onto your icing.
    7. Mix together your butter and icing sugar until smooth.
    8. Crush your Oreo biscuits, I used a grinder so it turned into fine powder. Mix into your icing along with the milk and vanilla. Make sure it is all mixed through.
    9. Spread the icing onto the cooled cupcakes, or use an icing bag to pipe on.

    Omg these are gorgeous. Managed to get18 cupcakes from this recipe, so plenty to go round. Will definitely make some more of these 👌😃  -  03 Feb 2016
