40g caster sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 pinch ground nutmeg

Combine all of the ingredients, except the blackberries, in a saucepan over a medium heat and simmer for 25 minutes until the apples soften. Stir in the blackberries and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until they begin to release juice. Remove from the heat and serve or use.
