Tasty Bolognese Sauce

    I have used this recipe for years. I find that by chopping the carrots celery and pepper as small as possible helps to the cooking time down

    • 1 Tbs Olive Oil
    • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
    • 1 Onion, finely chopped
    • 500g Mince Lamb
    • 100g Lean Bacon chopped
    • 2 Carrots, finely chopped
    • 1 Celery stick finely chopped
    • 1 Tablespoon Tomato puree
    • 1 (400g) Tin Chopped Tomatoes
    • 250ml Lamb stock
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1/4 tsp Pepper
    • 1/4 tsp dried Oregano
    • 1/4 tsp Italian Herbs


    1. Heat the Olive Oil in a large frying pan and brown the Garlic, Onion, Green Pepper Bacon and Mince.
    2. Add the Carrots and Celery and cook until tender.
    3. Stir in the Puree, Lamb Stock, Tomatoes and Herbs. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.


    Tip The finer you can chop the Carrot, Celery and Green Pepper the better
