Garlic cream mushrooms

    These delightful garlic cream mushrooms are the perfect starter to a wide range of menus. Enjoy with some buttered brown bread for mopping up the sauces.

    Serves: 4 

    • 3 tablespoons salted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 450g button mushrooms, halved
    • 3 tablespoons white wine
    • 55ml double cream
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
    • salt and pepper, to taste

    1. In a frying pan, melt the butter over a medium heat. Add the garlic and mushrooms and cook and stir for 4 minutes. Add the wine and bring to a simmer until reduced by half. Add the cream, herbs and seasoning and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve immediately.

    I would have given this a 5 star for sure except I had to add more liquid to my mushrooms. Other than the fact that I had to use dried parsley I followed the recipe's ingredients and very much enjoyed this with my steak dinner! Yummy stuff! Thanks, MaryDavies!  -  21 Feb 2015


    Delicious so quick and easy and tasty would double up ingredients next time though as wasn't enough for us piggies even though we had it as a starter.  -  29 Mar 2014
