About this recipe: This wonderful pork chow mein is full of flavour and satisfying textures. A great side dish for a variety of menus.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small green pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 380g pork belly, cut into strips
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 110g sliced carrot
  • 1/2 head cabbage, chopped
  • 600g egg noddles
  • 225g mange tout
  • salt and pepper, to taste

  1. In a wok over a medium heat, warm the oil and add the onion, garlic and green pepper. Add the pork and cook and stir to brown. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, carrot and cabbage and stir fry for 5 minutes. Add the egg noddles, mange tout and seasoning. Increase the heat and toss and stir constantly for 5 to 6 minutes until the noodles are heated through. Serve immediately.
