450g thinly sliced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
250g salted butter
salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat the slow cooker to auto or low setting.
Combine all of the ingredients in the slow cooker.
Cook on auto or low setting for 4 to 5 hours or until the onion has completely softened. The purée is ready when the onions have softened and there is just some liquid remaining. Purée using a hand held liquidiser then use or store.
